Progress of FRP Hatchery at Belenjore

Progress of FRP Hatchery at Belenjore FRP hatchery established at Belenjore by WORLP in 2005 is providing services to the village in the locality. The hatchery is trying to supply the quality spawn, fish fry and fingerling to the community. The unit has already produced 66.25 lakhs spawn in the month of July 07, the hatching work is in progress and total production of spawn in the unit during the year may go up to around 80 lakh. The hatchery is working through a network of nursery pond owners and around 32 lakh spawn has been procured by individuals farmers from the watershed villages and rearing in their own nursery pond, 18.25 lakh spawn has been procured by the local entrepreneurs and rest 16 lakh spawn is with SVA Belenjore in its nursery pond. Supply of fish fry & fingerling has already been initiated by the unit. OAS- Belenjore unit conducted 8 training programme on Nursery pond management and fish pond management during the month of July and trained 225 villagers including 95 women members from watershed villages.
