Mr G. B. Reddy, IFS, Director, Orissa Watershed Development Mission (OWDM)

Mr. G. B. Reddy has joined Indian Forest Service in the year 1981. For the last 24 years, he has worked in various capacities and been actively involved in Tribal Development and Natural Resource Management programmes. Mr. G. B. Reddy joined as Director, Orissa Watershed Development Mission (OWDM) in September 2004 and is involved in implementation of watershed development programmes in the State. As Director, OWDM he holds responsibility of managing Western Orissa Rural Livelihoods Project (WORLP) on the behalf of Govt. of Orissa. Earlier Mr. G. B. Reddy worked in UNWFP funded World Food Programme (WFP) as Project Director, WFP Orissa and implemented various food security and livelihoods programmes in the tribal pockets of Orissa. He has a flair for reading and traveling.

Dr. Sarat Chandra Behera, Additional Director

Dr. Sarat graduated in agriculture during the year 1973 and completed his masters & Ph.D in Soil & Water Conservation from B.C.K.V.V (WB) in the year 1982. He has rich experience in managing and monitoring watershed projects that are currently being implemented under different government schemes under Govt. of Orissa. Prior to joining OWDM, he has worked for more than 8 years as Soil Conservation Officer (SCO) & has international exposure on Participatory Action Research for Community Based Natural Resource Management. He has a pleasing personality and enjoys traveling.

Mr. Niranjan Sahu, PSU, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist

Niranjan has 18 years of work experience in the field of teaching, extension, research and development. He has the experience of an entire project cycle while working in DANIDA assisted bilateral project on watershed development. Working experience with Government, NGOs, Civil society and the tribal are his assets. He has built on skills of working in multicultural and multisectoral environment. M. Tech in Agricultural Engineering with specialization in Soil and Water Conservation from IIT, Kharagpur; Overseas General management from Ramboll, Denmark and P.G. Diploma in Social Work and Human Resources Development are his professional excellences.

Mr. Rajib Kumar Nag, System Analyst, Project Support Unit PSU

He has 15 years of experience in the field of Information Technology. After completing B.E. Computer Science & Engg. He worked as System Analyst and GIS Analyst in OGIMAC, Software Technology Parks of India. He has worked as a Project Manager in Orissa Construction Corporation Limited and executed many projects successfully. He has developed many application software’s for various organizations during this period. He has also worked as an advisor to many organizations.

Mr. Debadatta Das, Financial Administrator, Project Support Unit (PSU)

He has over 7 years of experience in the financial sector. Besides being M. Com and MBA (Finance), he has also completed NCFM from National Stock Exchange and Quality Management from NIIT. Prior to WORLP he was working as General Manager ( Finance ) with a leading private sector metal and Ferro alloys company. He is also a visiting faculty to leading business schools in the state like IMIS and B-School Academy in the areas of management accounting and financial services.

Mr. Sibananda Mishra, Development Communication Officer, Project Support Unit

Sibananda Mishra is a post graduate in Economics and Mass Communication with additional qualifications in Media Management from MICA, Ahmedabad and web designing from ARENA Multimedia. Earlier he has worked for 12 years as Administrator in the Indo-Swiss Natural Resources Management Programme Orissa. He has been serving in WORLP as Development Communication Officer since January 2008.

Ms Kabita Dash, Social Development & Gender Equity Specialist

Ms.Kabita Dash is a post graduate in Social Science, having more than 9 years work experience in the fields of health, livelihood, gender and disaster preparedness. Earlier she has been associated in a number of health and development projects of Diakonie-Sweden, Cordaid-Netherlands, Oxfam (GB), DFID, WHO and Bloomberg Global Initiative. She is involved in partnering relationships, programme planning, implementation, monitoring and policy advocacy at the state and district level. She has joined the WORLP,OWDM since 1st May’2009.

Mr. Saroj Kanta Palai, Administration-cum-Finance Assistant

Qualified with M. Com (Finance), he has over 4 years experience in the sector of Finance & Accounting. Earlier he has worked as an Accountant in the Aryan Granites & Monuments Pvt. Ltd. at Chennai. He has joined as Administration-cum-Finance Assistant in WORLP, OWDM since 1st May 2009.

Dr Peter Reid, Team Leader, Management Consultants

Peter from Italy working as Team Leader, MC had his academic base from the University of East Anglia, School of Development Studies, UK. He has 30 years of hands-on work experience in rural development in Africa and Asia, working towards poverty reduction goals. He worked in Africa for 12 years, before moving to Pakistan where he spent six years working closely with the World Bank, and came to India with DFID in 1997. He spent 8 years working directly for DFID, and for over four of these years he was professional and administrative head of DFID India’s 26-strong Rural Development Office. In that capacity, he led the design team for WORLP for DFID, and was responsible for getting the project off the ground. He has been a team leader for 15 of his professional years, and his broad field of expertise is rural development.

Mr. Bipra Prasad Kar, Finance Assistant, MC

Bipra Prasad Kar has joined as the Finance Assistant in the Management Consultant at OWDM. He has 3 years of experience in the Finance Sector. Before joining to WORLP he was working in private sector. He loves to play Cricket and Traveling

Dilip Mohapatra, CBT, Micro Finance Specialist, Bargarh

He has done his Post Graduate in Economics having 8 years of experience on micro enterprise pomotion. Before joining WORLP, he was working as a consultant for NISIET (National Institute of Small Industry Extension Trainers), Hyderabad an autonomous organization under ministry of small scale industries, Govt of India conducting EDPs and undertaking research activities on entrepreneurship.
